If you are a hopeless Skype addict, SoonR can help you use Skype on your regular mobile phone even when a computer or wireless network is nowhere to be found. SoonR Talk is a software package you load onto your computer. When you use your phone’s browser to access your home computer via the software, you can see your Skype buddy list and choose who you want to call. Your computer then dials your mobile using SkypeOut and connects to your buddy with a conference. You can connect to multiple users, too. SoonR Talk essentially turns your computer into a Skype switchboard when you are away.

The following story just illustrates something I have said before - the iPhone (and it's unlimited tariff) makes it so much easier to browse the Internet than any other phone (and yes - that includes all Blackberries out there) letting users actually do even casual web-browsing from their phone. THe unlimited tariff is a important psychological factor - as you know that you're not going to run up a enormous bill while doing some non-company browsing...

Google has announced that Apple's iPhone is dwarfing the competition in internet searches, with Web surfers seeking out the iPhone 50 times more than any other mobile handset. "We thought it was a mistake and made our engineers check the logs again," Vic Gundotra, head of Google's mobile operations told the Financial Times at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The following story from Techcrunch is quite interesting, but should not come as a surprise to any one that has tried the iPhone/iPod Touch. I have had (and used) both Symbian based phones, Windows mobile phones/devices and Blackberry phones, and quite honestly the iPhone/iPot browser is so much better,

In addition to this you will also have to remember that the iPhone comes with a "unlimited" data connection, something that makes it so much easier to "just do it" on the iPhone.

For those of you who have read my blogs for any period of time you know that I rarely write about my working life - and that is probably the way it is going to continue (I am setting up a separate work-related blog elsewhere).

But one of the reasons I have blogged less that normal lately is that I have just changed jobs. Tuesday March 18th was the last day on my old job, and I started my new job at the beginning of this month (a bit of overlap - I know).

I was not terribly satisfied towards the end of last year in my old job, for a number of reasons, most of them related to senior managements attitudes towards staff which i had worked with for a long time. In addition to this was were proceeding down a technology line which did not suit me.
