When I got up this morning and looked at the statistics for the new O2 ADSL link the linespeeds had changed again, it was fairly obvious that a restart had happened early last night :

This time the upload speed had increased quite dramatically to almost 1.9 Mbit/s.

Excellent.

It seems to have restarted itself 17 hours or so ago - and the download speed has improved to 17 Mbit/s!

And now the stats show :

As far as I understand this goes on for approx. 2 weeks after installation, so this is probably the end "product".

I'm pleased...

So now that I have received the MAC code from Pipex I decided to go with O2 as the new supplier - their customer and technical satsifaction seems to be on top of all surveys just now.

In addition to this 20 Mbit/s download and 1.6 Mbit/s upload is not too shabby either.

But I hit a small problem - as when I had finally entered all my details and pressed the Order button I got this message:

Fortunately I could log into the online account which I already had set up for my iPhone, and select "My Broadband" which gave me:

PREFACE: I sent the company behind DataPatrol a letter about this - and I will publish their reply later, but the service is still basically the same, and the results they provide just as lacking in relevance
