Review :GEAR4 PocketPower - Portable Battery Backup and Charger for iPod Nano and VideoI just bought one of these - after seeing this pic on Amazon, and reading up on it.
After unpacking I was a bit disappointed that the cable in the picture (A iPod sync cable ready to plug into the bottom connector of all new iPods and the iPhone. All that is included is a USB<->USB cable. I charged the 4 included AAA batteries for a night - until the charging light turned green. Then I plugged it into one of my spare iPod sync cables - but it refused to charge the iPod (or my iPhone). In the end I put in 4 normal AAA cells - and it now started charging the iPod/iPhone. Conclusion : This device works as a charger for iPods/iPhone's as long as you use it with standard (non-chargeable) AAA cells, and as long as you supply a correct cable. The lack of functionality with chargeable batteries is a disappointment. Blog reactionsNo reactions yet.Trackback URL for this post:http://www.gisvold.co.uk/~gisvold/drupal/trackback/635
