Bean to cup coffee machine - Gaggia XTWO

Tags:

So we bought a new bean-to-cup coffee machine some time ago to replace our aging (and dead) Gaggia Synchrony.

The first XTWO was unpacked and proved to be extremely noisy - the only way to describe it that everything was "rattling". A few other problems were quickly apparent as well - if the supplied filter was used it refused to make coffee, and the amount of water in the coffee decreased sharply during the day - unless we ran the cleaning cycle incredibly frequently.

The machine also requested cleaning 5 times a day or so. A phone call to Gaggia and Whittards in Guildford led to them ordering a replacement machine and 2 weeks ago we went to pick up the new machine, with one kg. of complimentary coffee beans.

And now it works with the water filter installed, it is quiet, and only requires automatic rinsing once a day.

It is a impressive machine - and the automatic cleaning features for both the milk dispensing circuit and the coffee circuits is quite simply impressive

And as a aside - it makes superb coffee, and the automatic cappuccino making works perfectly.
