A strange one for me - but I actually use the old version of this speaker, and it lives at the bottom of my rucksack.

Why?

Well - I do give a few presentations powered by my MacBook Air - but much as I love it the internal speaker is not terribly good, so if more than 3 people need to listen in on a Skype conference call or a presentation I actually use this speaker, and surprisingly enough it produces loud enough sound to be adequate for a conference room with 40 people.

If you’re on a budget or just want to kick out in a different direction from ordinary docks and speakers, you might wanna take a look at the Orbit. To me it looks like a mashup of a tuna can, an old-timey microphone element and an ashtray, but your experience may vary. I better just let Altec Lansing describe it for you.
