I am getting started with the Arduino microcontroller - and I found this on how to control it using PHP under OsX!

PMF is a communication system to transform Internet events into hardware signals. It sends data to DIY wireless toys for real-time feedback, using the Arduino board. Blogs and instant messages can now easily trigger lights and motion.

This is a PHP4 class written by Jonah Model and Rebecca Stern. It works with OSX's built-in PHP (although other platforms may apply) and can be extended for custom use. This is not a ready-to-go solution but provides a tested model which you can build on to develop advanced wireless toys. A special thanks to kellan of MagpieRSS, the RSS parser which we integrate, and to Adium.

Note: although written in PHP, the framework is not intended for use on a web server (it has been done). You should expect to run PHP via command-line from your desktop or laptop computer.
