Hm! Article from the "reuk.co.uk" site - I am utterly unimpressed, the country of Norway can probably show to the same statistics for the country as a whole....in our last houe in Lillehammer all heating was electrical (hydro - the only type on offer)...so 100% from renewable sources...

Swedish IKEA stores already obtain over 90% of their energy needs from renewable sources - primarily hydro power with some wind power. I’ve just been to Norway and my god those people can use energy. I mean not energy as in running around doing stuff and complaining about how tired they are like we do but the world’s energy.

Take my friend X for example. Or “Eks” as it’s spelt in Norwegian. She lives in an enormous house with lots of rooms. Well lit by huge windows and heated by invisible … heating agents under the floors I presume. When the family left for work they left every single light in the house on.

I wonder if one of the negotiators was the guy that looked to buy our house in Lillehammer before we left Norway?

It has come to light that Norway has been playing a pivotal role in attempts to bridge the gap between China and Tibet.

Several top level officials from Norway have been conducting secret talks with the Chinese and the Tibetan government in exile, led by the Dalai Lama.

The talks have reportedly been kept secret at the request of China, which has publically taken a hard stance against the region it believes to be an integral part of its territory.

The report in the VG newspaper cites American sources who have also been active in the talks. The Americans have reportedly praised Norway’s “wisdom” and “creativity” during the crucial stages of the talks.

I found the following story in the Reindeer blog - and although it is a sad story for the reindeer herders, a quick look at Google Earth will put this into perspective, as Norway has a big landmass with absolutely no-one living there (well almost no-one anyway), especially up north. So in other words I do have a problem believing in this argument.
