Early Friday morning Benjamin shouted from his room : "I got in to Surrey!".

He had just gone online to check his exam results, and was told that he had managed to get into his first choice - Surrey University, and one the course he wanted.

From a parents point of view - excellent, no worries about what to do for a couple of years, and he will be close enough to either live at home or at the very least turn up in person occasionally.

Just came back from kayaking on the river Wey again - I feel a bit self-righteous now, at least I get some exercise.

Benjamin (my son) and I went out on the local river (the Wey) with our kayaks today - and even though it rained we had a very good time, and met a surprising lot of people

- in Narrowboats

- In rowing boats

- Walking along the towpath

- Cycling along the towpath

It's great the see all this activity, even though we had a bit of rain while we were out.
