As a experiment this server is now running behind Varnish 2.0.2 as a reverse proxy cache - in a default installation.

So beware of problems

Another day - another computer.

Spent part of the day fixing a Windows XP laptop for a friend - it had suddenly lost contact with the Internet. I could ping any IP address out there, and do a nslookup, but could not ping by DNS name.

Had to roll the system back to before the last update of the system, and suddenly everything sprang back into life.

While with them I found out that their wireless network had no security whatsoever, and I even found a list of users that had logged into their WLAN. So I secured it before I left their house.

I had a problem with the new update of Drupal (6.6) - resulting in a large number of error messages in the system log. Turns out to be the Quickstats module - I have now disabled this.
