The first serious geocaching application I've seen on the Appstore - and it looks good. It does *not* display any navigation aids as such (i.e. a compass rose or similar) but read the FAQ for why this is not included (one reason is that the author has not mastered the graphics on the iPhone well enough - so 10 points for honesty!)

The iGeocacher is a small application that allows me (and you) to parse the data in a set of geocaching files in .loc or .gpx format and then display them via a web application in the safari browser on your iPhone. The lat/lon coordinates are coupled to the Google maps function so that you just touch the icon or link on the desired target and you'll see it depicted on Google maps. Just touch the directions button and get detailed driving instructions to your waypoint

We're back home after a week in Cornwall holidaying and seeing friends. We had a good time - but unfortunately did not get to go kayaking. But I'll have to say it's also good to be back home again - with decent showers (good waterpressure and hot water), and all the other creature comforts such as Internet connectivity. (Could not get my 3G stick to work in Fowey, as Voda did not have any masts down there) - but the iPhone worked, so not totally disconnected from the Web (-;.

Here is links to a posting that actually looks at what determines the quality of a small digital camera (in addition to MegaPixels) :

And if the specs are correct - this may just be it :

It's no D90, but Sony has a new compact stillcam for your snapping pleasure, the Cyber-shot T500, and it's touting an HD movie mode just like any good bandwagon hopper should. The 10.1 megapixel camera offers up a 5x optical zoom, 3.5-inch LCD and Optical SteadyShot, but most of the attention is likely to be lavished on the 1280 x 720 30 fps h.264 movie mode. You can grab 720p stills while you shoot, and you can expect to store about an hour of video on your 4GB Memory Stick... you do have a 4GB Memory Stick, right? The T500 hits this October, no word just yet on price. Oh, and she comes in colors

How excellent - a chance to get your iPhone back if it's stolen:

BAK2u, maker of anti-theft software for Macs, Windows, and most mobile phone platforms, is almost done with their world’s first anti-theft iPhone (& iPod touch) app called PhoneBAK. Founder Paddy Tan (whom I’ve interviewed before) explained that they are just down to a few more features then it all depends on the iTunes App Store approval process before it’ll be available for download. Not sure on pricing yet. [From World’s first anti-theft app for iPhone (video)]
