I use InvisibleShield for both my iPod Touch and my iPhone, and fully approve of it, even though it took a long time and some patience to sort out.
So I am intrigued by their announcement that it will also be provided for the MacBook Air - a very good idea in theory, even though I am wondering how long it will take to sort out..
Interesting concept

VmWare certainly seems to be making all the right moves at the moment :
Yesterday VMware released the much-awaited update to their VDI product, VDM2. VDM2 is a "complete" VDI solution, packaging VI3 (ESX Server), a desktop broker, and the management tools you need to have a turnkey VDI solution. Pricing is fairly aggressive too. $150 per concurrent user (CCU) gets you everything you need, and for those who already own VI3, you can add-on the VDM2 stuff for a mere $50 per CCU.
This version of VDM is the first VDI product release since VMware acquired Propero almost a year ago. The dueling themes of VDM's progress have been "delay" and "rewrite." After a significant overhaul of Propero's code, VMware finally feels its ready for the market.
Hm! You may have to be into self-harming to actually run this, but it is interesting.
Hello!
My name is Emil Ong and I work for Caucho Technology, the maker of Quercus. I thought I'd introduce myself and let the Drupal community know what Caucho is up to with Drupal. Quercus is our cleanroom Java implementation of PHP. It's open source (GPL) and runs PHP code in both interpreted and compiled modes (i.e. the PHP is compiled to Java, then run on the JVM). The interpreted mode version of Quercus is available to run in any Java servlet engine (the Glassfish guys actually have a lot of tutorials up about this), but the compiled mode only runs on Resin, our Java application server, and is only available with a license. We've found up to 4x performance improvement for Drupal in the compiled mode over the usual Apache+PHP.
This brings back memories of the first IIc in the UK, having to lock it in a cabinet and only show it to others under a NDA and so on.....

I am going to test this tonight - any tool that gives me easy access to my Bonjour services is interesting!
ShareTool lets you to access all of the Bonjour services on your home network from anywhere in the world. This includes iTunes Music Sharing, Screen Sharing, File Sharing, and more.
With ShareTool, you can listen to your entire iTunes music library at work, control the screen of any of your home computers, or grab that important file you forgot to bring with you. [From Bains Software - ShareTool]
Update : So far I'm unable to get it to work on my network, even if I have uPNP turned on at the router. THe documentation does not give me enough to go on here - so I will have to do a bit of reading and testing.
This excellent little utility should solve my problems with Time Machine crashes when I close the lid of my laptop, and its backups across the VPN tunnel when I'm at work.
TimeMachineEditor is a software for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard that lets you change the default one-hour backup interval of Time Machine.
You can change the interval or decide to make a backup once a day, once a week or once a month.
This is usefull if you don’t need to backup every hour and don’t want the performance penalty. This is also especially usefull if you manipulate lots of data within one hour as you would spend the whole day backing up.
Surprisingly I have so far not reached the full capacity of either my iPhone or iPod touch - even though my old 60 Gb iPod is full!
Apple today doubled the capacity of its touchscreen media devices, releasing both a 16GB iPhone as well as a 32GB variant of the iPod touch. [From MacNN | Apple, iPod, Mac news @ The Macintosh News Network]
I wonder how Zimbra views their future at the moment, as Yahoo may be bought by Microsoft?
Zimbra, an open-source alternative to Microsoft Exchange Server that was acquired by Yahoo this past September, has released version 5.0 of its collaboration suite. The upgrades are various and wide-reaching, with support finally here for the BlackBerry and several improvements made to Zimbra’s browser-based email client. I found this article quite interesting, as i describes the way Norway manages its income from the vast oil resources, and how Norway has managed to avoid the trap most other petrol-fuel economies have fallen into.
Among oil economies, Norway – the world's third-largest exporter and 10th-largest producer in 2006 – is almost alone in having avoided this fate. As oil has boomed, so has everything else, and it has boomed in areas that will continue to generate economic growth when the oil revenues are gone. This is no accident: For Norwegians, this is a story of planning, self-discipline and a long learning process.
While other countries have become apathetic and uncompetitive during petroleum booms, Norway appears near the top of every international index of competitiveness and entrepreneurship.
