Now this is spooky. If it weren’t for the cars outside, you would think you were in a medieval hamlet, a handsome collection of brick-and-flint buildings with mullioned windows and oak doors, built around a great house. All is quiet except for birdsong — if Richard the Lionheart had appeared on his horse, we wouldn’t have been surprised.
