Typing "Norge" into google give you a list of things to do with Norway which is expected..but in the sponsored links section, ebay apparently has Norway for sale!! Quite a feat wouldn't you say? Selling a whole country.. =)

The reason I'm up at this ungodly hour is..the car. Woke up at about 1.50am to hear this high pitched alarm thing that sounded like the alarm clock but louder..and bigger..and more expensive. I ran downstairs, unlocked the car and locked it again, naturally assuming the car would stay locked and quiet..but no. at 2am it went off again..so, went downstairs unlocked it..and left it like that while my dad and I did a little patrol around the outside of the house to make sure nobody was trying to steal the car. Turns out the car locks itself if unlocked for a period of time. Smart car. In the end my dad did something with the locking and we haven't heard from the car in about 10 minutes which is good.
Personally I think the car was bored and wanted some attention.

In the past few days I've been taking pictures of anything and everything in the house and the garden (basically where I've had to stay for revision..fun). I've taken about 150 pictures and kept 15ish. However..in this 15 there were two really good pictures of our cats that I edited and sent to my mum because I know how she loves pictures, especially of cats. In any case, both my parents said I should upload the 2 pics onto the blogs..so here they are! Click on the pics to get a larger version - both have been scaled down from the original size.

Godalming College
-within the top 10 in the United Kingdom, including private schools
-over 1500 people attending
-quite a nice place to be
but something quite funny - well, in my opinion - has come up, an email sent to all the upper 6th/leaving students by the college. Here it is:
> -----Original Message-----
> To: All Student Distribution Group
> Subject: Fines Amnesty - return all overdue books by 29th June and
> there will be no fines to pay!
>
> From now until the end of term there will a Fines Amnesty. Return
> all your overdue books and there will be no fines to pay.
>
> Leavers - remember to return all your library and departmental
> textbooks by the 29th June - otherwise your exam certificates will
> be withheld by the College.
>
> This email is confidential and is for the attention of the
> addressee only. No legally binding commitments are, or
> will, be created by this email and where it is our intention to
> create such legally binding commitments, we will do so through hard
> copy correspondence or documents.
Yes, I even included the bit where it says it's confidential. Just to show I'm following the rules and..well..using my freedom of expression. Or not. Oh and just to add, I do have every intention of returning these books. I have also deleted information linking to the identity of the sender, so you can just assume it is on behalf of Godalming College, which I suppose it is anyway.
Anyway. How could a college legally withhold a certificate which does not belong to the college, but instead belongs to a student. The only people who I believe have the authority to keep possession of a GCE are:
The college could try the ploy “Well we paid for your exam entry” which won't work because parents/guardians pay taxes, which the government then gives to the educational institutions with certain amounts set aside in a budget to pay for exam entries. So yeh..
Anyway, if anyone reads this..what's your opinion? Can a college legally withhold documents such as this?
